Math

Students in Kindergarten through Grade 5 receive 90 minutes of Math instruction daily. Shepherd uses Eureka Math in conjunction with Zearn Math, a supplemental digital resource. Eureka Math is a holistic Pre-Kindergarten Grade 12 curriculum that carefully sequences mathematical progressions in expertly crafted modules. Through these modules students will develop competency in the Common Core mathematical practices. Eureka Math and Zearn Math are designed to motivate and challenge students as they develop conceptual understanding, apply understanding to the real-world mathematical situations, and fluently manipulate numbers and symbols. The components of the Math block include Fluency, Application Problem and Concept Development with Small Group instruction.
