MARCH MADNESS BOX TOPS CONTEST – Round 1 (March 4-7)
It’s March Madness, and for colleges and universities across America, that means the NCAA basketball competition! For Shepherd Elementary School, it means box tops madness! This March, we will be having our own “big dance,” pitting classes against one another to see who can collect the most box tops. Box tops earn money for your school, so this is a great fundraising opportunity!
Students, their parents, their friends, and family should start collecting box tops. Box tops can be found on a lot of common household products. You simply clip them and turn them in to your teacher. For participating products, check out the following website: https://www.boxtops4education.com/earn/participating-products. Each box top is worth 10 cents. While that doesn’t seem like a lot, earnings add up quickly. We’ve already made almost $200!
For the four weeks of March, we will be counting the number of box tops submitted by each class. The first round will take place March 4-7. If your class has collected more box tops than your opponent, your class moves on to the next round. Each Monday, Ms. Brawley will announce who moves onto the next round. (What if your class gets eliminated? Don’t worry! Once you are eliminated, you can still collect box tops! Either put them in the mailbox on the front desk or donate them to the class that you’d like to see win the big dance!)
To see the tournament bracket and figure out what “team” you are playing against in the first round, see the bulletin board posted in the multipurpose room! The winning class will receive a very special prize!
If you have any questions or concerns, please email Caroline Smith (Henry’s mom, second grade, Ms.McIntyre) at [email protected].
