Shepherd Elementary School PTO's biggest fundraiser of the year – the 21st Annual Spring Gala and Auction – will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026 from 6 PM to 10 PM, at Crimson DC's Whiskey Bar, located at 627 H St NW, Washington, DC 20001. This year's event will honor Shepherd's teachers and staff and will feature select wine, beer, cocktail drinks and a buffet of food. 

Inspired by the rich, moody elegance and sultry jazz-club energy of a classic whiskey bar, this year’s gala theme - A Night at the Shepherd Savoy - invites you into an evening of rhythm, glamour, and Harlem Renaissance flair. If you’d like to lean into the theme, optional attire could include Art Deco–inspired prints, bold geometric patterns, and luxe jewel tones. Otherwise, cocktail attire is recommended. 

Our main event for the evening will be our silent auction, which will feature a variety of items such as class projects, themed baskets, and donated items from local businesses! We hope to raise over $70,000 this year to support Shepherd's academic and enrichment programs, which will ensure Shepherd has sufficient resources to remain one of the finest DC public schools serving PK3 to 5th grade students.

Shepherd Elementary School is in its 9th decade of providing quality public education to the diverse population of elementary students in the Shepherd Park, Colonial Village, and North Portal Estates neighborhoods of Washington, DC. It is one of the few DC public schools to have achieved accreditation for its International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program for students aged 3 to 12. Shepherd's dedicated staff strives to develop inquisitive, international-minded learners who think globally and act compassionately.
