We’re getting to the home stretch of the school year – but don’t let up yet! We’ve got our camping trip this weekend and our Shepherd Musical coming up in early June! And we’re hoping to do Field Day towards the very end of the school year too!

May’s PTO Meeting TONIGHT – 6:30 pm
Join us tonight at 6:30 pm on TEAMS for our PTO call to hear about the GREAT results of the recent student, parent and staff Panoramic Survey from Dr. Hedlund and updates as we wrap up the year with the Camping Trip, the Spring Musical and PTO and LSAT elections.
Shepherd PTO Camping Trip Details
We’re going CAMPING!
Here are the details for this weekend’s camping trip – arrive at Cunningham Falls State Park between 1-2 pm on Saturday and gather in the parking lots next to Hunting Creek Lake off of W. Houck Drive. Go to the lot on the north west side of the lake at the foot of the cliff trail (yellow) and lower trail (red). See the park map for specifics.
We’ll start with a hike to the Falls and then head to our campsites by 3 pm. We’ll play games, have a campfire and smores and other hikes. Bring tents, sleeping gear, food and drinks! It’s going to be HOT, so plan accordingly!
All campsites are booked for the weekend, but if you want to join us reach out to communications@shepherd-elementary.org and we can let you know if there is an open spot in our camp site area!

We’re looking for 3 parents (not related to anyone on the current PTO Board) to run our Nominating Committee and Elections in May.

Support the Shepherd 180 Fund
Help the Shepherd PTO fund lots of great events, initiatives, and extra circular efforts at Shepherd this year by donating to the 180 Fund.
It’s called the 180 Fund because there are 180 instructional days in the school year and your donation of a dollar a day per student helps the PTO support sending students on offsite field trips, funding teacher educational wish lists, putting on school plays and concerts, updating outdoor playground equipment, funding additional academic supports, and hosting school-wide events! This budget really helps us give our students even more unique, meaningful and enriching opportunities each year.
Any contribution is always much appreciated. And as a reminder, your contribution is 100% tax deductible. Thanks for your support – we’re looking forward to getting back to BETTER THAN NORMAL!
