Volunteer
Like many public schools, Shepherd relies on its parent community to help bring out the best in our classrooms and community. We recognize that your time is precious and offer ways to help from your office, on weekends, during the school day — help is needed in many different ways. If everyone pitches in just a little, our kids and community will benefit. Fill out our volunteer form to let us know your volunteer interests.

Volunteer Clearance
In an effort to safeguard our children, DCPS now requires anyone who wishes to interact with students — whether it is to read a story, help during recess, participate on a field trip, or serve as a substitute teacher — must now fill out a Volunteer Application.
To receive the proper clearance, families must:
- Complete the DCPS Clearance Application.
- Please note the "DCPS/Program POC" on the form is AP Shamayne Coles
- Complete a TB Self-Assessment form
- Complete a fingerprinting check. Fingerprinting locations are conveniently located across the DC Metro area with Saturday appointments available
